Assam Network of Positive People is a non government, non-profit making organization working for the people living with HIV/AIDS in Assam since 2003. We have formed the network on 12th August'2003 with the help of Indian Network for People Living with HIV with only five members with a primary objective to provide support to all people living with HIV/AIDS in the state of Assam. To eradicate the discrimination with the HIV+ people is another vital agenda of our network. After initiating the network we have registered it under the society’s registration act 1860 in the month of June'2004. Here the network increased up to7 (Seven) members. Currently we have more than 8000 members in different districts of Assam. We also establish some district level network in the different districts of Assam. Advocacies, Service Delivery & Network building are main agenda for this organization. We are giving a space to PLHIV (People living with HIV) to share their problems and views. We are trying to reduce self stigma and social discrimination among PLHIV and also creating many awareness programs along with the general and youth groups and many more. We are also working with children affected and infected with HIV, injecting Drug User, people with Co infection HCV (Hepatitis C) and alarming issue related with HIV.

From the day of establishment of the network, we have been encouraged by many stakeholders, including national and international funding agencies, Media, National HIV program and society as a whole.
